Cookies and your choices
Why some visitors are asked about cookies, and how to change the answer.
mikum.me uses a small number of cookies. Some are simply how the site works; others are for analytics and advertising, and those are the ones you may be asked about.
What each kind is for
- Necessary: keeping you signed in, keeping a guide you are building on the right step, and remembering which country you opened the site from. These are always on; the site cannot work without them.
- Analytics: how pages are used, so we can see where people get stuck.
- Advertising: Google AdSense, which appears on free-plan guides only.
When you are asked
If you open mikum.me from outside Israel, a bar appears at the bottom of the screen before anything for analytics or advertising is loaded. Nothing beyond the necessary cookies runs until you choose.
- Accept: analytics and ads load, and your choice is remembered on that device.
- Decline: neither is loaded, and the bar does not come back.
Either way you can keep using the page while the bar is on screen. It never blocks a guide.
In Israel, this is covered by the disclosure in our privacy policy instead, so there is no bar to answer.
Changing your mind
Open the privacy policy, find the "Cookies & local storage" section, and tap change your cookie choices. The bar comes straight back and you can pick the other answer.
💡The choice is stored in your own browser, so it is per device and per browser. Clearing your browsing data clears it too, and you will be asked again on your next visit.
