Building your guide

The photo suggestions on the sorting screen

Dashed "add this here" slots that appear when your guide looks like it is missing an obvious photo.

Once your photos are uploaded and sorted, you may see one or two dashed slots sitting under the list, with something like “Add the lockbox or key safe here”. Those are suggestions, not missing photos: your guide is complete without them.

Where they come from

We look at the name of your guide. If it clearly reads as a particular kind of place (a clinic, a holiday rental, an event venue) we show the one or two photos that kind of place is most often asked about.

  • If the name does not clearly say what the place is, you will simply see nothing. We never stop to ask you what kind of place it is.
  • If your guide already has a lot of photos, you will see nothing either: you have already covered the route.
  • If you already answered it another way (the floor field, a parking spot on the map, a photo whose text mentions it), that suggestion disappears on its own.

What you can do with one

  1. 1Tap it to add that photo. It opens the same photo picker as “Add more photos”.
  2. 2Tap the × to dismiss it. It will not come back on this guide.
  3. 3If the tips are for the wrong kind of place, tap not right? underneath and either pick the right one or turn the tips off for this guide.

💡Suggestions are only ever a hint. Nothing on this screen is required, and dismissing one never changes your guide.

Seeing them before you shoot

You do not have to wait for the sorting screen. On the photo step, tap 💡 Photo tips in the top corner: alongside the general advice, if your guide's name makes the kind of place clear, the same suggestions are listed there, before you have taken anything, while you are still standing in the place.

💡Anything you have already answered (a suggestion you dismissed, a field you filled in) is left out of that list too.
