Did your visitors find it? (arrival feedback)
Visitors can tap one button at the end of your guide to say whether they found the place, and you see the result.
Opens tell you a guide was used. They do not tell you it worked. So at the very end of the walkthrough (the arrival screen, right above "Create your own guide") every visitor is asked one quiet question: *Did you find it okay?*
What the visitor sees
- 1Two buttons: Found it and Not really. One tap, no account, no typing.
- 2Only after "Not really" do they get a short follow-up (*What went wrong?*) with four choices: the photos didn't match, couldn't find the entrance, the code didn't work, something else.
- 3That's it. The answer is saved, and that phone isn't asked again on that guide for about two months, long enough that a visitor who reopens the guide the same week isn't nagged, short enough that a stay next season is asked about as the separate arrival it is.
Nobody is forced to answer, and a visitor who ignores it simply moves on. The question is not shown to you when you open your own guide, so your own testing never skews the numbers.
What you see
Open Stats from your dashboard. Above the per-guide list you get the totals (how many visitors said they found it, how many didn't) and, when there are negative answers, what they picked as the reason. Each guide in the list below carries its own ๐ / ๐ next to its opens.
๐กA guide with plenty of opens and a run of ๐ is the one to walk again with your phone. Usually one missing photo (the unmarked side gate, the lift lobby) explains all of them.
Good to know
- Answers stay anonymous: nothing is stored about who tapped, only which guide, which answer, which reason, the language the guide was read in, and the note itself if they wrote one. There is no name, no number and no way to reply to a visitor directly.
- The question is skipped on gift links (the recipient hasn't arrived anywhere yet) and on the mikum.me demo guide.
- Closing the guide no longer loses it: a visitor who reached the end and tapped โ without answering finds the same question waiting on the guide's cover page. It is never shown on a cover nobody has walked past.
- Stats, including this feedback, are a Premium feature. The question is asked on every guide, so the signal is already waiting for you if you upgrade later.
When they say "not really", they can write to you
Tapping one of the four reasons narrows it down; it can't tell you the thing you'd actually want to hear. So right after a negative answer the visitor is offered a small box (*want to tell the host what happened?*) and whatever they type lands with you.
It stays optional and it stays short. Nobody is made to explain themselves to carry on, and a visitor who ignores the box has already been counted as a ๐.
You are told as soon as one arrives, by text (or email if there's no phone on your account), with the note itself in the message and a link straight to Stats. The notes are listed under the ๐/๐ totals there, newest first, with the guide they came from.
๐กThis is the one place a visitor can tell you something you couldn't have guessed. A note like "the side gate was locked at 9pm" is usually one extra photo, or one line in the entrance note, away from never happening again.
