A guest's phone blocked location at the door
What your guest sees when their browser refuses location on a location-checked code or gate, and how they turn it back on in Safari, Chrome, Edge and other browsers.
If a code or gate in your guide only opens when the visitor is standing there, the guide asks their browser for one location fix when they tap I'm here. If they tapped Don't Allow earlier, or their phone has location turned off for websites, the browser refuses straight away and won't show its own "allow?" question again by itself.
So instead of a dead button, the guide tells your guest — naming the browser they're actually using — where the switch is, with an Ask for my location again button.
What your guest does
- iPhone / iPad, Safari: tap aA in the address bar → Website Settings → Location → Allow. If location is off for every website: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari Websites → While Using.
- iPhone / iPad, Edge, Chrome or Firefox: Settings → Apps → the browser → Location → While Using the App, then come back and reload the page.
- Android and computers (Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet…): tap the lock or settings icon next to the address and set Location to Allow.
As soon as location is allowed again, the guide re-checks on its own in browsers that report the change. If the browser is still blocking when your guest taps Ask for my location again, the guide says so and offers Reload the page — the reload brings them straight back to the same step, and the browser asks again.
💡The location is used once, to check they're at the door. It is never stored.
