Troubleshooting

The sign-in link in my email doesn't work

Expired, already used, or scanned by your email provider: how to get in.

If you tap the sign-in link in your email and land on "that sign-in link didn't open", it is almost always one of three things, and all three take under a minute to fix.

Finish on the screen that appears

The link opens a short Confirm and continue screen with a single button. That button is what actually signs you in, so don't close the page before pressing it.

It is there on purpose: many email providers (Outlook and most work inboxes especially) open every link in a message automatically to scan it for safety, before you have even seen the email. A sign-in link works only once, so without that screen the scan would quietly use yours up and leave you with an expired link every single time.

Use the newest link

Each link works once, and asking for a new one retires the old one. If there are two sign-in emails in your inbox, go back to the most recent and tap that one.

Still stuck? Send yourself a fresh one

Open the sign-in page, type the same email address, and a new link arrives in a few seconds. Links also expire on their own after a while, so one from yesterday will not open.

💡Signing in with Google, or with a code sent to your phone, skips email links altogether, worth switching to if your work inbox is strict about links.
